Animania Sydney is over for another year. I'm doing big sighs of relief as I realize this year's con season is pretty much over. *fwaaaa*
And now, after a long hiatus, it is time for A Garlic Report!!! Day 1 - Sautrday
Saturday was THE big day for me and
as Team F@P.
We cosplayed Shinji and Mari from Evangelion 2.22 for our final round in the WCS Australian preselections.
To say the least, the whole day was an insane bucket of stress. Lots of worries about whether our props would make it onto the stage without killing anyone, whether all our stage effects would work...repeatedly doing our very loud (and annoying) war cry to keep our nerves in check... etc.
But when it finally came to the moment of truth, everything worked beautifully to plan! I'm so proud of myself and Tsu for accomplishing the skit that we both thought was impossible.
Here is a collection of awesome photos of our skit taken by
A couple of hours later, the results were in.
In Third Place was
and Rosy with their epic Persona 3 set.
In Second Place came Lily and Nicole with their beautiful Dynasty Warriors and GLITTER CANNON! (homfg DAT CANNON! SO FABULOUS)
And then, I'm very very very very proud and humbled to be able to say that
and I, Team F@P
has somehow been chosen as Team Australia 2012!
We received so many kind words about our performance from so many people. I'm so happy that we somewhat did Evangelion fans proud.
I wish to thank all my Australian friends for their continuing support over the past few months. You all know who you are. There are so many of you that I can't even start listing.
Also thanks so ALLLLLLL of the epic peopel int he crowd who started up the FAP CHANT!!!! It was a beautiful moment!
Also my eternal love and VERY special mention to three of my amazing friends who I met in Japan this year,
who have been keeping me mentally healthy late in the night <3 I love you guys so much TT___TT I can't wait to see you again!!!!
My Day 1 of Animania was sadly only consisted of WCS
After WCS results, an emotional victory, hugging Tsu for eternity, an emotional international phone call to
XD...we were kicked out of the venue rudely by the bitchy security lady. HURR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Day 2 - Sunday
On Sunday I had the great honor to be the interpreter/translator for our Japanese voice actress guest Otani Ikue-san, who does the voices of Chopper from One Piece, Pikachu from Pokemon and more~!!! *fanboy mode ON*
She was a really really lovely person and her speaking voice is... SO FUCKING CUTE!
She actually greeted me on Sunday by congratulating me on WCS, so that was quite special
Her Q&A panels were quite hilarious because I got SO CONFUSED every time people asked about obscure series and pokemon names which had DIFFERENT NAMES in English to Japanese.
Otani-san was QUITE amused at my suffering
In the afternoon Tsu and I did our encore performance as the winners of WCS Australia.
It was a miracle how the props withstood YET ANOTHER journey up the stairs onto the stage and our rough handling XD
So I enjoyed that.
Overall it was a really relaxing and official duties kind of day.
After everything was over, Tsu and I took our EVAs backstage....and then we DESTROYED THEM!!!!!
They were way too huge to keep at our houses and way too troublesome to maintain. They had also caused the both of us much pain and suffering for 5 months.
So what better way to celebrate our victory by completely DESTORYING them... ALL ON CAMERA???
The footage of Tsu and I unleashing our rage on them will be posted as soona s I get my hands on them
That's it for now <3
Have fun everyone ^^
